Department of Maine was Chartered 9 April 1981

We are down to seven Detachments with the loss of the Aroostook County Marines Detachment. This makes only six that can hold meetings, the result is some Detachments will need to host meetings every year. It may be time to find a central location to hold meetings and possibly cut back to two meetings a year. The Augusta area has two American Legion Posts one is in town the other is on Rt 17. The Veteran's Home is another possibly, all Detachments could chip in to pay for meals. There would need to be a motion made at the April 6,2024 meeting and voted on at the September 21 meeting.
